SLEA and Controlled F.O.R.C.E. Team Up to Offer K9 In-Service Training

Suburban Law Enforcement Academy - K9 In-service course registration

The Suburban Law Enforcement Academy (SLEA) at College of DuPage and Controlled F.O.R.C.E. now offer a 16-Hour in-service training program for Law Enforcement and Military K9 Working Dogs and Handlers. This program provides an overview of in-service training and fundamentals of strategies in apprehension work, narcotic detection, and explosive detection. Handlers and their K9s will be exposed to practical scenario-based training that will provide for continuing development and reinforcement of perishable skills.

This 2-Day K9 In-service training course covers the following topics:

  • Naroctic Detection
  • Explosive Detection
  • Apprehension and Release (scenario-based)
  • Obedience
  • Article Searches (scenario-based)
  • Building Searches (scenario-based)

The course is located at Controlled F.O.R.C.E. Proving Grounds, 2029 E Route 34, Leland IL 60531. Course cost is $395 per student.

  • 19-20 February 2013
  • 21-22 March 2013
  • 21-22 May 2013
  • 17-18 June 2013
  • 23-24 September 2013
  • 21-22 November 2013
