Arlington Heights, IL / November 16, 2007 -- Controlled F.O.R.C.E. International Instructors and Directors Tony Grano and Don Roberts were able to make good on their promise to return to the 327th Military Police Battalion (MP BN) and train personnel in a full-blown Anti-Terrorism / Force Protection (AT/FP) course this week. In May of this year, the 327th MP BN solicited Controlled F.O.R.C.E. for a 4-Day Pre-Deployment training. Due to the extremely short notice of the solicitation, though, the unit was unable to secure the necessary funding for the course. Tony Grano and Don Roberts decided to volunteer their time to provide the Protective Service Detail of the 327th MP BN with a condensed version of the Mechanical Advantage Subject Control (M.A.C.H.) system with specialized high-speed drills and dynamic team tactics. Several months later, the 327th MP BN was finally able to secure funding for a 4-Day course. During November 13-16, Tony Grano and Don Roberts trained 45 members of the 327th MP BN in the Controlled F.O.R.C.E. Level 1-4 Xtreme Training Package. Grano and Roberts were joined by Controlled F.O.R.C.E. Certified Instructor Captain Joel Rockemann with the Department of Defense (DoD) Interservice Nonlethal Individual Weapons Instructor Course (INIWIC) from Fort Leonard Wood, MO for delivery of the pre-deployment training. Controlled F.O.R.C.E. Level 1-4 Xtreme Training Package is a high-speed delivery of the core concepts of Level 1, Mechanical Advantage Subject Control; Level 2, Survival Force Reactionary Defense; Level 3, Combative Counter Measures; and Level 4, Environment Control Training. This pre-deployment training package targets mission specific training needs of the soliciting unit. The training delivered to the 327th MP BN covered Close Quarters Subject Control (CQSC) content ranging from engagement of a non-compliant subject to sidearm presentation and deployment against an armed combatant. |

SITUATIONAL CONTROL The Controlled F.O.R.C.E. Level 1-4 Xtreme Training Package delivered to the 327th MP BN on November 13-16 helped personnel develop situational control skills for their deployed operating environment, which in this case encompasses detainee handling and detainee transport missions. Some key elements targeted in this mission specific pre-deployment training included simplicity and retention, liability, and team building. SIMPLICITY. The Controlled F.O.R.C.E. System utilizes a building block approach to developing subject control skills, which enhances retention through simplicity of techniques and repetitions in training. Upon completion of this training, members of the 327th MP BN are better prepared to handle any hand-to-hand confrontation because they are armed with a set of subject control skills that can be easily recalled in high-stress situations. These skill sets are especially useful to personnel who have never been involved in a physical confrontation because the simple techniques give them skills to survive an attack and respond appropriately. LIABILITY. The Controlled F.O.R.C.E. System utilizes mechanical advantage over pain compliance as a subject control tool, which provides a more appropriate response to aggression, especially in this age of increased scrutiny on our fighting forces. Upon completion of this training, members of the 327th MP BN are better prepared to operate in a modern combat environment because they are armed with a set of subject control skills that allow them to successfully counter an aggressor’s actions without using unnecessary force. TEAM BUILDING. The Controlled F.O.R.C.E. System utilizes a simplified approach to team communication within a non-compliant operating environment, which enhances teamwork in response to threats. Upon completion of this training, members of the 327th MP BN are better prepared to work together as a cohesive unit to protect their comrades and civilians in a modern combat environment. The Controlled F.O.R.C.E. Level 1-4 Xtreme Training Package prepares personnel of all sizes, strength, skill, and experience to survive and succeed in any non-compliant operating environment. The Controlled F.O.R.C.E. Team is honored to have had the opportunity to support the men and women of the 327th MP BN, and wishes them the best of luck in their future endeavors. |
