Members of the Nevada Army National Guard gather from across the state to complete the Controlled F.O.R.C.E. Xtreme MP / MAA / Security Forces course in Reno on 21-25 September, 2009. The five day course, based on the Mechanical Advantage Control Holds™ (M.A.C.H.) system, is designed to address the needs of U.S. Armed Forces units that must also operate in a Law Enforcement capacity. Controlled F.O.R.C.E. Corporate Instructor Don Roberts and Instructor Jason Stanzione delivered a realistic, intense POI covering M.A.C.H. Close Range Subject Control (CRSC), Use of Force, Knife Awareness, Ground Defense and Escapes, small unit tactics, team communication, and environment control. SFC Travis Hughes and SSG Ignacio “Nacho” Gonzalez decided to bring Controlled F.O.R.C.E. in to train Guard Members in the Xtreme MP / MAA / Security Forces course after completing the Xtreme Training Track at the 2008 U.S.N.S.T.A. National Training Conference. Guard Members from the 485th, 137th, and 72nd MP Companies joined together to develop critical skills for quickly and effectively controlling non-compliant subjects in order to maintain control of the MP operating environment. Instructor Roberts also trained front line instructors in the usage of the Controlled F.O.R.C.E. Freddy S.T.A.T.™ (Simulation Tactical Advanced Trainer), which the Nevada National Guard acquired to minimize training related injuries. Freddy integrated training utilizes the unique properties of the Freddy simulated human figure to improve M.A.C.H. subject control skills. Training was conducted in the Harry Reed Regional Training Center at the National Guard Washoe County Armory. Upon completion of the course, each student receives a Controlled F.O.R.C.E. DVD Training Manual that includes written instruction and video demonstration of the M.A.C.H. CRSC content for maintaining perishable skill-sets. |
